Wugang, part of HBIS Group, began operating its new ultra-thick slab continuous caster on July 25, 2025. This state-of-the-art machine, supplied by Primetals Technologies, produces defect-free 460mm slabs essential for offshore wind & nuclear energy. The project aims to cut costs & emissions while strengthening China’s strategic steel capabilities, marking a bold step in high-tech manufacturing.
