Salzgitter AG takes full ownership of Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann after thyssenkrupp Steel & Vallourec exit the joint venture. The company plans to install an electric arc furnace at the Duisburg site, targeting a 90% cut in CO₂ emissions. The workforce will fall from around three thousand to about one thousand by end-2028.
