Steel Authority of India has started a major expansion at its Bhilai plant. The company awarded a key contract to MECON Limited for project management. The expansion will add 3.44 million metric tons of capacity, bringing the total to 10 million metric tons. The move aims to boost domestic steel production for India's infrastructure needs.
