India's government-owned steelmaker RINL has started making rebar again at its Visakhapatnam plant. Production stopped in June 2026 so the company could carry out major repairs on its coke ovens, which make the fuel for its blast furnaces. Now more TMT rebar in different sizes is reaching dealers & builders for homes, roads & other projects. RINL has lost money for years & received government help in 2025. Restarting rebar, one of its most important products, is a key step toward getting the plant back on its feet.
