The Rashmi Group announced a major investment of ₹10,000 crore for a new steel plant in Purulia. The project includes a 2.8 million metric ton steel unit and a 400 MW power plant. West Bengal government supported the initiative by granting it "Ultra Mega" status and providing 938 acres of land. This expansion significantly increases the group's existing steel production capacity in the region.
