Primetals Technologies has won an order to supply a continuous tandem cold mill to a steel producer in China. The new mill will manufacture high-quality silicon steel, a key material for electric vehicles and power transformers. It uses advanced Hyper UCM technology to produce thinner, more precise steel strips. Production at the facility is scheduled to begin by the end of 2027.
