Posco leads a ten-member South Korean consortium to develop electrical steel carrying 6.5% silicon content for electric vehicle motors. The higher silicon level sharply reduces energy losses in motor cores, improving efficiency & range. The project is funded by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy. Posco also supplies lithium to battery maker SK On, making it a key materials partner across the full electric vehicle supply chain.
