POSCO is investing KRW 480 billion ($360 million) to build a hot-dip galvanized automotive steel plant at Gwangyang Works. The No. 8 Continuous Galvanizing Line will add 450,000 metric tons of annual capacity. It is scheduled for completion in 2028. The line will focus on galvanized steel for automotive exterior panels. A key feature is its integration an electric arc furnace for lower-carbon production. Artificial intelligence & robotics will enhance quality & safety.
