Ukrainian mining giant Metinvest launched gas generators at Northern Mining & Processing Plant to achieve energy independence during ongoing grid instabilities. Two 2.8 MW generators generated 1,040 MWh electricity & saved UAH 2.3 million in two months of operation. The company invested UAH 473 million in four total units, operating 6-8 hours daily based on electricity market pricing. CEO Igor Tonev emphasized that energy independence enhances production stability & reduces equipment damage risks during power outages.
