Spanish steel group Megasa has hired Danieli to upgrade the rolling mill at its SN Seixal plant in Portugal, which makes about 1 million metric tons of rebar & wire rod a year. Danieli will install an induction heating system to keep billets at an even temperature, four new rolling stands in a simplified intermediate mill, & a new process control system that tracks every billet through the plant. The work should be finished by the third quarter of 2027. Megasa & Danieli have worked together for more than 50 years. (Source: Danieli press release)
