Mazda Motor Corp. has deepened its collaboration with Nippon Steel to reduce production costs. The partnership was applied to the development of the new CX-5 SUV. Nippon Steel provided early input on materials and procurement. This helped Mazda make the vehicle lighter and use fewer parts.
