Italy's government has signed a major agreement to revive the historic Piombino steelworks in Tuscany. The deal, brokered by the Ministry of Economic Development, binds JSW Steel Italy & Piombino Logistics to a formal industrial plan guaranteeing full employment for workers. Trade unions Fiom-Cgil & Fim Cisl both welcomed the outcome, with Fiom-Cgil securing a ban on unilateral action against employees. The agreement marks a decisive step forward for one of Italy's most important coastal steel facilities after years of industrial uncertainty.
