JFE Steel Corporation has developed a sensor that measures granule size distribution in real time on conveyors at its Fukuyama sintering plant. The technology uses lasers & cameras to capture 3D surface shapes, replacing manual sampling methods. The sensor has demonstrated productivity improvements & will be deployed at other plants. JFE Steel plans to offer the technology commercially as Online Granulometer for Materials on Conveyors under its JFE Resolus brand.
