CRNO: India's Impost: Protectionist Paradigm Parries Predatory Pricing
India has imposed anti-dumping duties on Chinese cold-rolled steel imports ranging from $223.82 to $414.90 per metric ton for five years. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies determined that Chinese manufacturers engaged in predatory pricing causing material injury to domestic steel producers. The duties target Cold Rolled Non-Oriented Electrical Steel used in electrical equipment manufacturing while excluding raw material inputs. This measure follows similar duties on Vietnamese steel imports aimed at preventing Chinese steel rerouting through third countries, demonstrating India's comprehensive approach to trade defense.
