Hyundai Steel’s net profit soared to 37.4 billion won (US$27.4 million) in Q2, thanks to higher sales of premium automotive steel. The company supplies over 80% of its 5 million metric tons output to Hyundai Motor & Kia. Focused on expanding European sales through low-carbon steel products, Hyundai Steel expects improved earnings, aided by fewer cheap imports & domestic stimulus.
