The European steel industry association EUROFER has welcomed a new EU plan to limit steel imports. The proposal sets a quota for tariff-free steel, with a 50% tariff on imports above that level. EUROFER says this is vital to protect jobs and help steelmakers invest in green technology. The group is calling for rapid approval of the measure.
