Ekinciler Demir ve Çelik plans to build a hazardous waste recovery plant in Iskenderun, Turkey. The facility will process 22,500 metric tons of electric arc furnace dust each year. It will produce 10,000 metric tons of zinc oxide with 63 percent purity and 17,000 metric tons of iron-rich slag. The investment cost is approximately seven million dollars. The project has entered the environmental impact assessment process.
