Czech Consortium Clinches Coveted Liberty Ostrava

A Czech consortium owned by Martin Pecina has bought Liberty Ostrava’s main plant & coking unit for about $142 million. The sale, approved by creditors, is scheduled to close this fall after court & regulatory review. Liberty Ostrava, which declared bankruptcy last year, still produces construction & machinery-grade steel, and the new ownership aims to restore full production.
