China exported 6 million metric tons of steel sheets & plates in August 2026, up 6.6% year-on-year. Cumulative exports from January to August totalled 44.26 million metric tons, down 7.9%. Steel bars performed strongest, 1.93 million metric tons exported in August, up 18.1%, & cumulative exports up 13.1%. Angle steel & sections rose 4% cumulatively, while wire rod declined 5.8% cumulatively.
