Canada’s Countervailing Crusade: Steelworkers’ Stand for Support

United Steelworkers Union met with Prime Minister Mark Carney to demand stronger worker supports ahead of US counter-tariffs. The union wants better Employment Insurance and emergency job attachment programs. Canada's expanded tariffs, taking effect September 8, raise duties on US steel and aluminum to fifty percent, covering C$27.6 billion in imports.
