BHP: Port Peril & Pilbara’s Pugnacious Pay Protest

BHP faces escalating strikes at Port Hedland, the world’s largest iron ore export hub. Unions representing 450 workers staged an eight-hour stoppage on 16 July. A 24-hour ship-loading ban is set for 8 August, followed by a 24-hour work stoppage on 9 August. The dispute centres on pay transparency and wage equity. BHP has proposed a 16% pay increase over four years.
