ArcelorMittal France Augments Automotive Alloy Arsenal at Mardyck

ArcelorMittal France activates its €430 million ($500 million) Mardyck electrical steel facility in December 2025, marking Europe's largest steel investment in ten years. Three initial production lines will manufacture ultra-thin electrical steels essential for electric vehicle motors, complementing the Saint-Chély-d'Apcher site to achieve 295,000 metric tons annual European capacity. Supported by €25 million ($29.06 million) governmental funding through France 2030 programme, the facility addresses escalating demand from automotive electrification, renewable energy systems, & industrial efficiency mandates, positioning ArcelorMittal to dominate Europe's electrical steel market amid projected 10 million annual electric vehicle production by 2030.
