Finnish metals producer Afarak Group is considering buying a steel plant in Croatia from Italy's Danieli Group. The deal, worth around two hundred million euros, includes installing a new production line for construction steel. Croatia currently imports almost all of its construction steel, around four hundred thousand metric tons every year. The new facility would produce five hundred thousand metric tons annually, enough to meet domestic demand and supply neighbouring markets.
