Black Sabbath emerged from Birmingham in the late 1960s & helped create heavy metal through powerful riffs, dark themes & inventive musicianship. Their early albums, especially Black Sabbath & Paranoid, influenced generations of rock musicians across the world. Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward & Ozzy Osbourne created a sound that turned social anxiety into music. The original quartet reunited for a final performance in Birmingham in July 2025. Ozzy Osbourne died 17 days later, closing one of rock’s most influential chapters.
