The World Steel Association named 14 companies as Steel Sustainability Champions for 2026, recognising their work in sustainable development during 2025. Tata Steel & Tenaris earned the honour for the ninth year running, holding the title since the programme began in 2018. The cohort has grown from six members in 2018 to fourteen today. Champions must meet 20 sustainability criteria, submit Life Cycle Inventory data, & earn recognition in the Steelie Awards or Safety & Health Programme.
