Canadian steel distributor Varsteel Ltd has acquired the structural steel division of Pacifica Merchants in a major industry deal. The acquisition expands Varsteel's footprint across British Columbia, Alberta, & Washington State, adding processing facilities, inventory, & around 280 employees. Combined annual revenues will approach 650 million dollars, ranking Varsteel among Canada's top five private steel distributors. The transaction strengthens Varsteel's cross-border presence, particularly through Pacifica's Seattle-area facility, positioning the family-owned enterprise to serve growing infrastructure demand across western North America while achieving significant operational synergies over coming years.
