UMB Steel commissioned SMS group to install Europe's first CMT 700 continuous mill technology at its Oțelu Roșu facility in Romania. The system achieves 700,000 metric tons annual capacity while reducing CO₂ emissions by 30% through elimination of natural gas billet reheating. The facility produces straight bars, compact coils, & wire rod through continuous endless processes. This pioneering installation strengthens UMB's market position while advancing sustainable steel manufacturing across Europe.
