Decarbonization's Daring Duo: Dunkirk's €1.3B EAF Metamorphosis

A Spanish engineering consortium of Técnicas Reunidas & Idom starts work on ArcelorMittal's €1.3 billion electric arc furnace at Dunkirk, France. The new furnace will produce two million metric tons of steel per year, generating three times less CO₂ than traditional blast furnace methods. The project is set to begin operations in 2029, marking a major step in European industrial decarbonization.
