Solar Impulse's Soaring Saga: Aviation's Audacious Apotheosis

Solar Impulse 2 achieved the first solar-powered round-the-world flight using 17,248 solar cells & four electric motors. Swiss pioneers Bertrand Piccard & André Borschberg completed the year-long journey at 46 mph average speed. The project demonstrated renewable energy potential while spurring innovation in solar technology, energy storage, & lightweight materials across multiple industries.
