India's Rourkela Steel Plant sets a new production record at its Danieli plate mill, producing nine hundred and ninety-three thousand metric tons in a single year. This surpasses the mill's rated capacity of nine hundred and twenty thousand metric tons for the second year running. The plant also broke records for single-day output, slabs rolled per day, and shift tonnage. The mill produces high-value plates for pipelines, shipbuilding, and defense, reinforcing India's industrial self-reliance ambitions.
