Primetals Technologies has launched the EAF Ultimate Move, a new electric arc furnace that cuts capital costs for greenfield steel plants. The furnace processes all raw materials, including scrap, hot-briquetted iron, & blast furnace hot metal, in any combination. Its innovative shell exchange system reduces facility footprint & simplifies maintenance. The technology was presented at AISTech 2026, targeting steelmakers investing in cleaner electric steelmaking during the global decarbonization transition.
