Primetals Technologies upgrades a five-strand bloom caster in eastern China, boosting the withdrawal straightening unit's force from one hundred thirty to two hundred metric tons per pinch roll and adding two extra pinch rolls. Advanced digital systems including DynaPhase and DynaGap Soft Reduction 3D, combined with a new electromagnetic stirrer, target a segregation index of just one point zero five. The upgraded caster produces one point two million metric tons of high-quality blooms per year for bearing steel, spring steel, and bridge wire rope applications.
