SMS Group has completed a major upgrade of Mukand Ltd.'s bloom caster at its Kalwa plant in Maharashtra, India. The project, marked by the award of the final acceptance certificate, introduces a new 250 x 300-millimetre bloom section, a state-of-the-art air-mist cooling system, & a next-generation AC-drive withdrawal & straightening unit. The upgrade expands Mukand's stainless steel product range & strengthens the forty-year-old facility's competitiveness for decades ahead.
