Italy's government has committed €285 million to back a €3.2 billion green steel mill in Piombino, Tuscany, developed by Metinvest & Danieli through their joint venture Metinvest Adria. The facility will use electric arc furnaces to produce 2.7 million metric tons of hot-rolled steel coil each year, delivering significantly lower CO₂ emissions than traditional steelmaking. Ranked among Europe's top five foreign direct investments by impact, the project is set to transform Piombino into a centrepiece of Italy's green industrial revival.
