Hyundai-POSCO Louisiana Steel has chosen Danieli & the ENERGIRON consortium to build a fully integrated steel plant in Louisiana, USA. The facility will produce two-point-eight-eight million metric tons of automotive-grade steel per year using electric arc furnace technology fed by direct reduced iron. The ENERGIRON direct reduction plant, producing two-point-five million metric tons of direct reduced iron annually, is hydrogen-ready & equipped carbon capture technology. The project establishes one of the world's first fully integrated, low-carbon automotive steel mills.
