Poland's Huta Częstochowa steelworks is set to gain a new co-owner on May 18, 2026. The Military Property Agency will join the Węglokoks Group as a joint state owner of the country's largest heavy plate producer. Since restarting operations in 2025, the plant has produced around five hundred thousand metric tons of steel and grown its workforce to over one thousand three hundred and eighty employees. The new ownership structure aims to boost capital investment and expand production of specialised steel for Poland's defence and shipbuilding industries.
