Germany's Steel Industry Association WV Stahl warns that railway freight disruptions are critically threatening raw material supply to steelmakers. Repair works & poorly prepared detour routes on the national rail network are already causing production stoppages at plants dependent on continuous iron ore & coal deliveries. The crisis compounds existing pressures from weak demand, high energy costs, & rising imports. WV Stahl is calling on DB InfraGO to urgently improve coordination & protect industrial freight supply routes
