Germany's Green Gambit: €5B Decarbonization's Daring Drive

Germany is committing five billion euros to help its steel, cement, paper, & chemical industries cut carbon emissions through Carbon Contracts for Difference. The fifteen-year contracts cover the extra costs companies face when switching from fossil fuels to cleaner production methods like green hydrogen. For the first time, the program includes carbon capture & storage technology as an eligible activity. The funding supports Germany's target of reducing total greenhouse gas emissions by two-thirds by twenty thirty compared to nineteen ninety levels.
