A Swedish startup turns forest waste into green iron. FerroSilva works with top universities and companies. Its process heats tree branches and tops to make gas. This gas then converts iron ore to sponge iron without fossil fuels. The method captures carbon dioxide from the biomass, making the final product carbon-negative. A new plant at Ovako's Hofors site will produce 50,000 tons yearly starting in 2026.
