Germany & France have rejected the latest United States proposal to resolve the steel & aluminium tariff dispute, saying it worsens conditions for roughly half of affected goods. The European Commission is now considering countermeasures while technical talks continue. The European Parliament insists American tariffs on metal-containing goods must fall to fifteen percent before European trade preferences take effect.
