France's Derichebourg has agreed to acquire Germany's Scholz Recycling Group, founded in 1872, in a deal set to close in the second half of 2026. The acquisition adds over 180 recycling centres across Central & Eastern Europe to Derichebourg's network. Scholz sold over three million metric tons of recycled metals & materials in 2025, recording revenues of €1.6 billion. The combined entity will be a key supplier of scrap metal to Europe's rapidly expanding electric arc furnace steelmaking sector.
