BHP's Bountiful Bonanza & Brandon's Boardroom Baton
BHP reported strong operational performance for nine months ending 31 March 2026, achieving record material mined at Escondida & record production at Western Australia Iron Ore. Copper production reached 1,461 thousand metric tons, tracking upper half of FY26 guidance. The company announced Brandon Craig will succeed Mike Henry as Chief Executive Officer on 1 July 2026 after Henry's six-and-a-half-year tenure. BHP also realized approximately 4.8 billion dollars through the Antamina silver streaming transaction with Wheaton Precious Metals, the Carajás divestment, & earlier Blackwater & Daunia asset sales, strengthening its balance sheet considerably.
