ArcelorMittal launches XCarb™ green steel certificates enabling customers to report verified Scope 3 emissions reductions. The program uses DNV verification to ensure credible CO₂ savings from steel production improvements. Customers purchasing certificates can report these reductions according to Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards. The initiative creates the first certificate-based carbon accounting system for the steel industry, similar to renewable energy certificates.
